Dear Former Pupil.

Camp Hill Boys' is an excellent school; everyone connected with it can be rightly proud of what has been achieved over the years. I am continually impressed by the number of former pupils who come back to see us, or who write to me in an attempt to maintain contact. There have been many enquiries about the possibility of establishing an old boys' association, so I hope that you will join your peers in supporting this new venture

You will see from the Constitution that there are four aims of the Association. It is intended that they will be achieved by means of a members newsletter, information sheets from school, the school magazine and by a variety of social events. A website will be developed to enable easy communication between members and we hope to build up a detailed database of contacts.

At the outset, we have been granted funds from the King Edward Foundation to finance secretarial support and initial communication. However, it is hoped that the Association will become self-supporting through its annual membership subscription. For 1999/2000, this has been fixed at £10. Those who wish to take out life membership may do so with a one-off payment of £100. Leavers from 1999 will be covered for four years by a payment of £5. In return, you will receive Association newsletters, detailing recent events at school and matters of interest to members; it is hoped that you will wish to contribute to it! You will also receive a copy of the school magazine, 'The Chronicle'.

A committee has already been formed, following a series of open meetings at school. In addition to the framing of the constitution, the committee is attempting to organise social events which may be of interest to members.

Clearly, it will be helpful for the committee to know whether these events will attract sufficient support to be viable. If you wish to join the Association, please return the application form, duly completed, together with the appropriate membership fee. We shall be delighted to get back to you with further details!

If you have any queries about anything to do with the Association, please telephone me at school, or Roland Staples (Secretary) tel : 0121 743 5375, or Ken Birrell (Chairman) tel: 0121 430 4221. (School e-mail enquiries@camphillboys.bham.sch.uk, Fax 0121 441 2796.) My e-mail address is headmaster@camphillboys.bham.sch.uk

We look forward to hearing from you.
The President of the association is
the Headmaster
Mr V Darby.
